King W. Rogers is a native of Dyersburg, Tennessee. He graduated from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville with a degree in Business Administration. During his years at UT Knoxville, King was a member of the Interfraternity Council, served as President of Alpha Tau Omega social fraternity and was elected to membership in Omicron Delta Kappa leadership fraternity.
King is married to Judy Prichard from Newbern, Tennessee. Judy was an honors graduate of the University of Tennessee with a degree in Business Administration, a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and was chosen for Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. King and Judy live in Memphis and have two adult children.
King received his law degree from Emory University in Atlanta, where he served as President of Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity and received a commission in the United States Army Reserve through the ROTC program at Georgia State University. He began his practice of law with the Memphis-based law firm of Heiskell, Donelson, Adams, Williams & Wall. In September 1975, King joined the Memphis lawn firm of Glankler Brown, PLLC, which has in excess of 60 attorneys and employs over 125 people. He is now Attorney, Of Counsel at Glankler Brown and concentrates his practice in real estate.
In addition, King is extremely active in the Rotary Club of Memphis East, where he is a Past President, former member of the Board of Directors and a current member of the club's Foundation Board. He is a Paul Harris Fellow, and a past Chairman of the club's Paul Harris Foundation Fund Raiser. King was chosen as "Rotarian of the Year" in 1995.
King is widely recognized for his many contributions to various civic and educational institutions. He has served as President of the Shelby County unit of the UT National Alumni Association, served as a member of its Board of Governors, served as a member of the UT Development Council, and serves as a member of the Chancellor's Roundtable for UT-Memphis, having formerly been its Chairman. In 1990, King was appointed to a six-year term as a Trustee of the University of Tennessee and served as member of the Advisory Committee of the Wm. F. Bowld Hospital during his tenure as a Trustees. He is currently a member of the UT Foundation Board of Directors.
Over the years, King has served as a Director of the Dyersburg State Community College Foundation and continues his involvement in a number of community boards, including the Dixon Gallery and Gardens, Triumph Bank and Methodist Hospital Foundation. |
